Alex began his career as a cake artist at the very young age of 10, after years of reading wedding cake books and watching televised cake shows in awe, he was ready to enter the industry himself. Alex enrolled in hobby cake decorating courses at the local craft store and excelled in each one. He was anxious to continue growing his skill. An initial hobby quickly transitioned into a passion as he further honed his skills studying French Pastry Arts at the esteemed L'Academie de Cuisine where he graduated top of his class. Following school, Alex worked for the Michelin starred restaurant Blue Duck Tavern in Washington DC, pushing boundaries from plated desserts, to chocolate and sugar showpieces and numerous elaborate wedding cakes. After choosing to return to his true passion of cake artistry Alex returned to Southwestern Pennsylvania, and began pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a wedding cake artist.
